Ladera 2021 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley ($40)
Fruit from Ryan’s Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District provides the fruit for this stunner, with Clone 1 and Sauvignon Musqué. Peaches and cream aromas dive into a salty minerality, fueled by scents and flavors of jasmine, ginger, and gardenia. With a tropical twist mid-palate of ripe passionfruit and kiwi, a spice lurks in the background for an ultimate creamy-clean experience.

“Very nicely textured, the 2021 Ladera Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Ryan’s Vineyard in the Oak Knoll AVA. Immediately gratifying, this delivers sweetened gooseberry, nectarine rind and copious minerals on the palate with flinty undertones. Enjoy over the next five plus years. Drink 2022-2027”

Tasting Room: Sauvignon Blancs and Fume` Blancs
A zesty sauvignon blanc with up-front notes of grapefruit, lime and kumquat. Balanced, with crisp acid. Refreshing.

Vineyard Notes
The 2021 Ladera Sauvignon Blanc is comprised of two distinct Sauvignon Blanc clonal selections: Clone 1 and Sauvignon Musqué and is exclusively sourced from Ryan’s Vineyard located in the Oak Knoll District AVA. A unique micro-climate and meticulous attention-to-detail throughout the growing season make Ryan’s Vineyard one of the finest Sauvignon Blanc vineyard sites in all of Napa Valley, producing wines with inherent varietal distinction, intense fruit expression and great balance.
Cellar Notes
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes were harvested in the cool hours of the night then whole cluster pressed to preserve the delicate fruit aromas. Multiple harvest dates and a gentle press program ensured the flavor profile and chemistry aligned with the Ladera style. The juice was cold settled for 24 hours in tank then transferred to French oak barrels (12% new, 63% neutral) and stainless-steel barrels (25%) to undergo fermentation. The wine was aged sur-lies for six months and stirred routinely to create a long, rich and complex palate.
